Casella Wines is a family company that combines tradition with contemporary Maria Casella, emigrated from Italy to Australia in 1957 and began their winemaking careers at Yenda in the NSW Riverina region in 1969.
Filippo was passionate about wine and enjoyed sharing it with everyone. He knew how much hard work, co-operation and skill went into making a great wine and he instilled this knowledge into each of his children. It’s an approach Casella stays true to even to this day.
Casella is still very much a family business with Filippo and Maria’s son’s, John, Joe and Marcello Casella, continuing to create great tasting wine at affordable prices today. By combining the passion of his heritage with a relaxed Australian attitude, the Casella brothers and their team create great wines that everybody can enjoy.
The Casella champion brand [yellow tail], is the most successful launch of any Australian wine brand in the history of the Australian wine industry. It is exported to more than 50 countries around the world and more than two million glasses of [yellow tail] are consumed around the world every day. In 2010, it was names Australia's most powerful family wines business and the fifth most powerful wine brand in the world in the POWER 100 Report.
